Now is the time, we are thinking about Baby #2. We are not pregnant yet, but there is so much that goes with babies that we are starting now. Baby is going to be two in a few months so we plan on trying for another baby after her birthday. Since we already have a girl, it would be easier if we had another girl because we saved EVERYTHING from when Baby was a baby. I told Husband so start thinking of names because we had such trouble the first time agreeing on names. We did not have any boy names we agreed on and just a few girls names. We are also trying to decide if we want to have another nursery and just leave Baby with her own room. Then once we decide that, we have to pick a room theme for the new baby. Husband said if the second baby is a boy, he wants the room to be ‘Monster truck’ themed. If you remember from earlier pictures, Baby’s room now is animal themed. I am going to start looking up different ideas for names and room themes, we have a lot to think about!
So this is our little garden! As I said in an earlier post, this was our Easter project. I actually bought a few plants the week before Easter and just planned on putting them in a pot, but Husband said he knew I wanted a garden in the future so why not start one now. So we built the box, got soil and a few more plants and the picture below is our result. We planted: banana-peppers, heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, chives, cilantro, sweet basil, tickseed, skullcap, and cheddar pinks. We are so excited to watch everything grow and see what we get.
While I was outside taking pictures of the garden, DogBoy was stuck to me like glue. In the picture below DogBoy is thinking – “mom, I know you are eating that yummy chicken you baked last night for lunch, and I was just wondering if you thought this face is cute enough that you would want to give ME some yummy chicken? Huh mom? Can I PAAALEEEEASE have some chicken?”
How could I say no to this face? I couldn’t.
:) Have a good day!
This weekend was pretty great, a little busy and hectic, but great overall. Husband took me shooting on Saturday, which is something he has been dying to do for a while now. Husband has had this gun, (a pistol i guess, its black, but I don’t have any idea what kind of gun other than I think it takes 40 caliber bullets) for a few years and I have only shot it once before because he refused to leave the shooting range until I did. I was afraid then, guns are scary. I have never liked having the gun in the house, but I did feel a little better just knowing I wasn’t completely unarmed. Please do not worry, Husband has shown me a bunch of times how to use the gun, I just had not actually shot the gun but the one time. So we decided to go on Saturday and I figured, “I have birthed a child before, I should be able to shoot a gun.” So I aimed and I fired. The gun kicks a little, but it wasn’t too bad. So I fired again. And again, and again. It was actually fun trying to learn how to aim the gun better. I definitely need practice, but Husband was super happy that I even wanted to keep going. My hand is killing me today, but shooting the gun and spending time with Husband was a lot of fun.
We also got to spend the rest of Saturday with my parents who just got back into town from being on vacation for almost two weeks. My mom and I took a walk around the neighborhood and took Baby to see the horses and chickens down the street. Baby loves to see animals, even when they are just standing there, she is fascinated. On Sunday, Husband and I put a garden box in our backyard. We built a 5 x 3 box, filled it with soil and bought the plants we want to grow. The process actually took awhile, after 3 hours of hard work and sunburns for both of us, we finished putting the garden in and went out to dinner with the family for easter.
I will put pictures of our little garden up as soon as I get a chance. Hope everyone had a great weekend, now time to get to work! :)
As you should know, I love to read, and I just recently started looking for which book I would like to read after I finish the current book I am reading. Right now I am reading the fourth book in the Twilight series, which I wanted to read because I wanted to see the differences between the Twilight vampires and the classic Bram Stoker vampires. I just love the classic books, I was one of those weird kids who enjoyed reading the books that were assigned to us in school which were not all classics but a lot of them were. So the other night I decided the next book I want to read is a classic. When I started to look them up, I found there are a zillion I want to read! Here is my list(not in any particular order) :
- Treasure Island – Robert Louis Stevenson
- Little Women – Louisa May Alcott
- The Canterbury Tales – Geoffrey Chaucer
- Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte
- Moll Flanders – Daniel Defoe
- A Room With a View – E. M. Forster
- The Hound of the Baskervilles – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
- The Enchanted Castle – Edith Nesbit
- Vanity Fair – William Makepeace Thackeray
- Wuthering Heights – Emily Bronte
- Five Children and It – Edith Nesbit
- The Scarlet Letter – Nathaniel Hawthorne
- Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea – Jules Verne
- Gulliver’s Travels – Jonathan Swift
- A Tale of Two Cities – Charles Dickens
- The Three Musketeers – Alexandre Dumas
- Night and Day – Virginia Woolf
- Prince and the Pauper – Mark Twain
- Robinson Crusoe – Daniel Defoe
- The Count of Monte Cristo – Alexandre Dumas
- Moby Dick – Herman Melville
- The Woman in White – Wilkie Collins
Do you have any suggestions or comments about my list? Happy reading! :)
I finished the baby’s quilt and for my first quilt, I think it looks amazing! The quilt turned out better than I thought it would. I decided to go with an “easy” pattern and do big zigzags, but boy did I not realize how long it takes to cut out that many triangles. I give props to those who do the smaller patterns, you have some crazy-good patients. Some of my triangles turned out a little uneven, but overall it is exactly what I wanted for her. I chose purple, pink, orange, yellow, and white for the colors of her quilt. I chose a pink and white print for the binding, this fabric is only on the binding. I had trouble finding a fabric for the back of the quilt, so I decided to tie-dye some white fabric. Look how the quilt turned out:
Tell me what you think, thanks for looking! :)
